Thursday cat blogging

Filed under: Uncategorized — jesurgislac @ 7:15 am

I’m taking my older cat to the vet this morning, for an operation on her thyroid gland.

Wish her (and me) well, please.

  2. Thank you. I just rang the vet, and it seems all went well with the operation. Now I just have to hope that all will go well for the future…

  5. That was intended to be supportive, since I have thyroid problems too. I had not realized I wasn’t welcome. Hope all goes wel with your cat. Bye.

  6. I didn’t actually realise you were referring to yourself and not to a cat of yours with thyroid problems. I went through a lot of worry deciding whether I should give my cat daily medication or an operation that might mean she wouldn’t need medication, and having decided on the operation, I did not need to know that day – the day my cat was being operated on – that other people had decided differently.

Sorry to hear you have thyroid problems yourself.

  7. Glad to hear all went well with the operation, Jes, and I pray for a bright future for you and your cat. It’s nice to see the care in this side of your life, in addition to what is evident in all your insightful writing on many social issues.

  8. Thank you for your good wishes, Mark. Two full days after the cat was operated on, she seems fine and quite recovered – certainly her appetite is back to normal, and she even seems livelier.

  11. J, I’m cat people. There have been cats around ever since I was born. We have two now, both female tabbies; one sleeps on — yes, on, as wellas with — my younger daughter and one insists on sleeping in our bed, on my side (since my wife pushes her away).

  12. Ah, sorry to respond so irritable than. Summerholiday started this weekend in my region and the last two schoolweeks are hellish for parents so I not in my best mood those weeks. Yes, I have to take thyroid medication every day – much easier to feed me medication than your cat though. I ment to say that even if the op didn’t work medication can make you feel pretty good too. Glad to learn that catface seems to respond well.
